A round table dedicated to interior design and to international trends will take place in Milan for the whole of 11th December, on the initiative of the IIDA (International Interior Design Association) founded in Chicago in 1994.
The event will occur thanks to work carried out over the last few months by Federico Delrosso, who was nominated last August as a member of the IIDA Presidential Committee.
The IIDA undertakes its activities with 33 “IIDA Chapters” spread throughout the world,

A word Delrosso often slips into the conversation when talking about his conception of the home is “exoskeleton”. It is easy to see why from this refurbishment project that involved additions both vertically and horizontally, anchored by masonry partitions and with the addition of an external metal framework. The new walls in Trani stone provide a slightly subversive sense of thrust, their gentle tapering even suggesting a residue of some previous masonry and generating new force-lines. The metal framework imposes the new signature to the façade, orchestrating the various structural, functional and insulation features.

Spostando il limite / Pushing the Boundaries 

With the outlook of one who is largely self-taught, the Biella-born architect Federico Delrosso displays that constant transition of testimony between yesterday and today. Far frombeing nostalgic or derivative, his work affirms a solid sense of the here and now. It manifests his open conviction in the contemporary, which means connecting and constantly merging the things that surround him and arouse his curiosity. Things that catch his attention, things that trigger a new passion. He transforms signs and stylistic elements, repurposing and revamping them, applying a requisite global outlook that is more concrete than speculative, which he adopts to dominate and visualise an idea. He shuns being tied down to set reference points. And yet, while free of dominant influences, his personal design trajectory betrays a deference to the modern masters – with Gio Ponti, Ernesto Nathan Rogers and Le Corbusier in the fore whose idea of the architect was someone who designed “from the spoon to the town”, and whose work pivoted constantly on an inquiry into space, which was inherited by Richard Meier. The quest to define a single continuous surface runs uninterrupted through contemporary architecture, as do the studies of the famous Moebius strip. Ever mindful of context and surroundings, be they natural or urban, and of the “spirit of place”, Delrosso aims to inject reality and real value into his work with clarity of intent and expression: this is thebasis of an organic understanding, not in the style, but in the premises. This first monograph coming up as a accomplishment of 20 years cycle of residential and commercial projects and design works.

This catamaran was built in 1991 (55 feet in length) by the glorious Lagoon yacht-building company, known for its Oracle trimaran that won the coveted America’s Cup in 2010. The job of restyling the racing yacht was a kind of athletic challenge in itself. Il nuovo concept proposto da Federico Delrosso per il Bice's beach di Cannes propone colori e forme della natura marina: riferimenti utilizzati in tutti gli aspetti compositivi e scenografici, dando allo spazio un forte senso di uniformità globale. L’onda, in quanto elemento generante curvilineo, viene riproposta nella pavimentazione in due materiali e nella copertura con struttura leggera in legno lamellare e teli in PVC termostampato.

Notime - restaurant in montecarlo (MC)

Notime, a new restaurant designed by Federico Delrosso in Montecarlo, is the sign of a place in which time is suspended. It is the space/time of the pause, of the thought that follows paths finally detached from everyday routine. For this restaurant we first of all conceived a name that conveyed the idea of a rarefied atmosphere, we designed the logo, incorporating a video installation by the artist Fausto Mazza (a clock with the hands “gone haywire” ) and we articulated the space with wood bars arranged at irregular intervals to delimit a sort of intangible “Zen cage”. On the outside, the alter ego
