A round table dedicated to interior design and to international trends will take place in Milan for the whole of 11th December, on the initiative of the IIDA (International Interior Design Association) founded in Chicago in 1994.
The event will occur thanks to work carried out over the last few months by Federico Delrosso, who was nominated last August as a member of the IIDA Presidential Committee.
The IIDA undertakes its activities with 33 “IIDA Chapters” spread throughout the world,
providing networking opportunities, information services and training to safeguard, encourage and develop excellence in interior design. Federico Delrosso has been entrusted with the delicate role as reference person for the Italian “Chapter”.
The round table, which will be meaningfully held in the ADI headquarters, will be the first Italian IIDA event. To affirm the significance of the occasion, the conversation will be chaired by Julio Braga, the IIDA International President, and by Cheryl S. Durst, Executive Vice President, CEO and LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) of the IIDA.
"I think it is fundamental to analyse the realm of interiors today because our work has changed a lot in terms of approach and demand”, explains Federico Delrosso. “I view my job very differently now compared to five years ago. Nowadays designers are also communicators, not just creators. In a certain sense we have been obliged to improve our capabilities in that direction, even though communication is actually another job." F.D.
The initiative has been sponsored by the following companies: Alessi, Arper, Oikos, Tabu, and Zucchetti Kos, with the support of the Industrial Design Association (ADI), of the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservationists (CNAPPC) and the Milan area Architect Council (Ordine degli Architetti di Milano).
